How to respond to a bad Google review without making things worse
By Kyle Davey · Reviewed
A calm response framework for acknowledging the experience, protecting privacy and moving the conversation forward.
Respond to the reader as well as the reviewer
Your reply is read by future customers. Its job is to show that the business can handle a problem fairly, not to win an argument in public.
Acknowledge the concern, avoid discussing private details, state the useful next step and invite direct contact where a proper investigation is needed.
Keep facts separate from emotion
Do not reply while angry. Check the booking, order or visit first and avoid accusing the reviewer of lying. If the review appears unrelated to a genuine customer, report it through the platform and keep any public response neutral.
