How to create a midweek offer without destroying your margins
By Kyle Davey · Reviewed
Build a focused offer around quieter capacity instead of discounting everything for everyone.
Start with the quiet period
Define the exact problem: a quiet Tuesday evening, unused appointment slots or low lunchtime orders. A broad discount running all week often gives away margin on sales that would have happened anyway.
Change the package before cutting the price
Bundle complementary items, add a low-cost extra, set a minimum order or limit the offer to a specific time. The customer should see clear value while the business keeps control of the cost.
Measure one useful outcome
Record redemptions, average order value and whether the offer attracted new or returning customers. Stop or revise an offer that creates work without improving the underlying quiet period.
